Industrial Theatre Scope
The Ziph Amandla Industrial Theatre fulfils part of the ICVCT campaign and disease management efforts initiated at KLOOF Division of GoldFields Mining SA.
The Pumalo Approach
The industrial theatre piece was developed through stakeholder co-creation and alignment with the prevailing Health and Safety strategy. It would address the consequences of right and wrong choices with regard to HIV and AIDS. The ICVCT piece would facilitate an understanding of the process of testing and treatment their related benefits.
Industrial Theatre Outcomes
The industrial theatre product was designed to be hard hitting so as to motivate the audience to make a decision to action after seeing the performance.
Ziph Amandla was a 20 minute piece of Industrial Theatre presented throughout the life of the mine at venues such as the training and induction centers, engineering workshops, Hostels and liquor outlets in the communities and the ad hoc communication days.
The most recent adaptation was to play a role in the implementation of the TB process that was facilitated concurrently through the mine. Having close similarities the two matters were well addressed by a couple of minor additions to the story line of the ICVCT Theatre piece.
