The MASIPHEPHE Industrial Theatre piece is a part of the SAFETY and producivity efforts initiated at the DRIEFONTEIN division. It forms part of the mine’s safety culture drive.
The Pumalo Approach
On the request of the mine we extracted the key safety aspects of the DRIEFONTEIN mobilization process to address to focus on the supervisors, gang leaders and crew population of DRIEFONTEIN.
Industrial Theatre Outcomes
The 20 minute industrial theatre piece has taken the key safety culture context of the division into account and communicates matters of behavioural ‘values’ towards a safe working culture.
The MASIPHEPHE concept and Industrial theatre remains pivotal to the mine’s training and development environment. The Industrial theatre piece has been adapted and employed to bring additional safety issues into the ongoing productivity drive.
The MASIPHEPHE piece and concept is said to be taken further to develop the next strategy of addressing a culture of safety and productivity throughout the mine.
