Industrial Theatre Scope
The Eyethu Industrial Theatre fulfills part of the Training and Development project that was initiated by KLOOF Gold Mine, a division of GoldFields Mining SA. It forms part of the GoldFields productivity drive.
The Pumalo Approach
The Bompodi process was extended from the already successful Eyethu project. The site specific role players and stakeholders were involved in the implementation of the project.
This was a unique roll out with Pumalo choosing it identify a resource from the local community. We then trained and developed a them local individuals into a theatre facilitation team, capable of delivery quality and performance consistent with the rest of the Pumalo product and services.
Industrial Theatre Outcomes
The industrial theatre product has taken the cultural context of each division into account and designed a context - specific stage production to communicate matters of ‘values’ towards a performance culture.
Through consultation with the Team Mobilization process drivers , the then Gold Fields Academy team and mine representatives, each context has created its own identity and story line. To date over five thousand Gold Fields employees and even some of their families have tasted the theatre experienced and many have told of how it has influenced the manner in which they understand their work opportunities on the mine.
