The 2007 WORLD AIDS DAY event at KLOOF Division [Goldfields Mining SA] provided a superb opportunity for the development and implementation of the Ziph’ Amandla piece of industrial theatre. The piece focused on the HARD SIDE of the consequences of HIV and AIDS related diseases forms part of the mines ICVCT Campaign for the 2007/2008 period.

Ziph’ Amandla is performed within the normal working environment of the mine, presented in the residential communities, at the Crush and changing station of all the shafts at KLOOF mine. We have enjoyed superb response to date, seeing as much as 60 people respond on one occasion to the call to take the voluntary testing and counselling. The “ambush” styled piece of industrial theatre is presented in partnership with the organisation’s social community services centre.
